Xenofon Zacharoudis has built an international career in financial services, specialising in risk management, regulatory compliance and strategic operating governance. Having gained professional London experience for more than a decade, he currently serves as Head of Risk at Piraeus Asset Management, contributing to robust risk governance, controls and organisational resilience in a continuously evolving regulatory environment.

Previously, he worked with leading global financial institutions. He began his career at BNP Paribas CIB (the corporate and investment banking arm of BNP Paribas), focusing on liquidity regulatory reporting and internal control, and later served as Entity Risk Manager at Citibank London, responsible for the Group’s broker-dealer entity—strengthening his hands-on understanding of both European and US regulatory frameworks.

Beyond his corporate roles, he is actively engaged in institutional representation and strategic sector networking. He serves as Chairman of the Hellenic Bankers Association UK (HBA-UK) and Head of its Executive Committee, and is a Liveryman of the City of London, reflecting sustained involvement in the civic and professional core of one of the world’s foremost financial centres. He also contributes as a speaker in conferences and institutional forums on risk governance, regulation and developments across banking and asset management.

He combines professional practice with academic engagement. He holds an Executive MBA from Bayes Business School and works as a Scientific Associate at the University of Macedonia in the field of Information Technology Law. He completed his undergraduate studies at the same university, graduating top of his class.
