Spiros Tassis has got more than 14 years of substantive knowledge and PQE in advising entities activated in the TMT/ICT market, either as a corporate lawyer or as an external consultant.
Spiros has a strong in-house experience in both mobile and fixed telecoms operators. Key points of his career are being Head Corporate Legal Adviser to Cosmoline S.A. (ICT regulations and restraints, competition pros/cons and antitrust issues, data protection and network security, spectrum licensing and management, interconnection and backbone agreements, wholesale network and POS, negotiation of high value vendor financing agreements etc.), Corporate Legal Adviser in Vodafone Greece, where he gained substantial experience in telecommunications law, market analysis and antitrust issues, security and privacy and also led several sectorial legal projects on mobile market in cooperation with other market players and the NRA and Senior Associate for a big ticket law firm in Athens, dealing mainly with telecoms and electronic services providers. Spiros is offering external advice, as an independent lawyer, since 2010 to, among others, tech and internet startups, ICT stakeholders and entities activated in energy. He is also an Editor of the "Media and Telecommunications Law Review" (DiMEE, Nomiki Vivliothiki S.A.) and in 2009 he was invited by the Ministry of Communications to participate, as an ICT expert, in drafting a new law on deploying national fiber optics networks (Ftth). He is also an Editor of the "Media and Telecommunications Law Review"
He is a co-author of the book “Facebook, Blogs and Rights” and his recent Legal Guide on Electronic Communications in Greece is published in the Greek Law Digest. He regularly publishes articles related to ICT and privacy and he is invited as a Visiting Lecturer in programs related to the ICT sector and as a speaker to conferences related to the TMT/ICT market, data protection etc. He is a member of the EPA (European Privacy Association).
