Dr. Kostas Vergidis was born in Kavala in 1981. He graduated from the department of Applied Informatics, University of Macedonia in 2003. In 2005, he completed the masters programme "IT for Product Realisation" from Cranfield University, U.K. receiving the award for the best M.Sc. student. In 2008, he received his Ph.D. in Business Process Optimisation using an Evolutionary Framework also from Cranfield University. He is a co-inventor in an Airbus patent and has received the Thatcher Bros Prize from the Royal Institute of Mechanical Engineers. In 2010, he was hired by the Cybercrime division of the Greek Police and has investigated over 100 cases for crimes related with Internet misuse. In 2014, he was elected by the University of Macedonia as a Lecturer in Enterprise Architectures for e-Businesses.
His academic interests involve modeling, analysis and optimisation of business processes, multi-criteria analysis and stochastic optimisation methods.
